(2022) Water, water and more water. We have definitely gotten our fair share and more here in Queensland this year. Nature is putting on a magical show out in the rainforests and mountains though with creeks and waterfalls pumping. Big respect for nature. (2021) These are the first two paintings I made since coming back from my second visit to the incredible, majestic and spiritual Carnarvon Gorge in Outback Queensland in 2021. I think this diptych is inspired by our venture up to the lookout at Battleship Spur near our campsite Big Bend. It is one of the hardest climbs I have done so far. But of course totally worth it once we got to the top and was rewarded with the most incredible view over the wide spread canyon we had just hiked through. (2023) "And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul" is a quote I love by John Muir. These words popped into my head when I was coming up with a title for this painting. (2021) Most of the time I am inspired by sceneries in our natural world, but every now and then by stories and dreams. In this case, this painting was inspired by a dream that my beloved had. In the dream he was standning by a lake, and when he jumped in to the lake he found himself floating around in the sky... a pool of sky. How dreamy isn't that!?
