(2022) The places I have seen here in South East Queensland (so far!) are beyond incredible. The vast mountain ranges, the summits with breathtaking views, the creeks and the deep forests. I am so lucky to live in this part of the world where nature just keeps on giving. I have so much more to explore, and so many more mountains to conquer and paintings to paint. The mountains have been such an inspiration for me this year and I feel this painting is showing the essence of my most recent experiences at the Scenic Rim in South East Queensland. Those incredible mountain ranges and peaks I just love to explore. My most recent works have expressed this through nature inspired semi-abstract landscapes but sometimes characters like these wants to get involved. We are after all all part of nature.

Maybe this female forest nymph represents the nurturing mother embracing nature and it's beings? Maybe it's a symbol of that special connection we have with birds and animals?

I love to picture characters with closed eyes as it creates a sense of deeper connection on a soul level.)
