Snowy Summer

Last year had the pleasure of standing on the top of Australia. And I mean that in a literal sense as the Mt Kosciuszko summit is the highest mountain in the country with its 2,228m. Some of the many things that I loved about this place on earth in the Snowy Mountains was the vastness, and the views for days. The rocks stacked on top of each other as if giants of another world has scattered pebbles across the land. Ravens, ravens, ravens everywhere, ruling over the thrones that these peaks appeared to be. And the ever present snow. Even in summer patches of snow where lingering in the shady spots. ( My Scandinavian heart did a few squeals of joy when I got to touch snow in the middle of Australian summer. ) The Snowy river with it’s icy cold and for our feet soothing water after 2 long days of intense hiking with our packs. Bliss. The green plains of flowy grass, the silver snow daisies, other alpine flowers, and soft moss. The clean air and the slight dizziness from the altitude. Moments of joy and memories for life
