(2022) Recently I visited the Upper Portals at Mt Barney National park with some friends, and came across some pretty special places where water where flowing, streaming and gushing through the wilderness. (2024) This first painting of 2024 shows a new and somewhat more sophisticated direction in my work. An interesting exploration of the small things in our natural world that is part of the whole. "Fragment From Beyond" was born from a small detail I spotted in one of my other paintings, "Beyondering". It was quite fascinating to discover that all the smaller building blocks in my paintings actually are artworks in themselves. Seeing that small detail blown up into a much bigger size was very inspiring, and I think I will explore this way of working further. 101 cm x 101 cm Acrylic on gallery canvas.
